Night in Jamaica
[Peruvianism: 1810]
It was a rainy night they say
When don Simon Bolivar
Slept in the arms of beautiful
-Luisa Crober
(of Jamaica); thus an
Assassin missed his mark
When he stabbed Major Amestoy
Sleeping in the dark
In Bolivar’s hammock!…

Sacred Something
Love for love
curse for curse
what you plant
(in the furrow):
is what you
get tomorrow.

Epitaph in El Dorado
Ride high, ride high
The shade replied
Over the mountains
To the valley
There upon a cliff
You’ll see
A placed called
El Dorado
His madden brain
Was sick with pain
Beholding to the shadow
But he found the gold
And then was told
You’ll never leave
The valley?
And so it was
That he grew old
Sitting there in the Valley
Counting gold
Eating toads?
And
I’m sick of this poem
But it needs an end
So my friend, I must say
This epitaph was is his story.

Epitaph of a Shoeshine Boy

Do You Enjoy Watching Your Dog Wear Handmade Dog Scarfs Just To Suit Their Personality?
June 30, 2008
Yes! We love our wonderful and dear Pooches! We care for them so much that we love to dress them up in all sorts of dog clothing. Take for instance, a handmade Dog Scarf. These great looking little dog scarf’s do come in all sorts of fun colors just to suit your dog’s personality.
I was recently researching “dog clothing” on some of the more well known search engines. I was amazed at all of the many different things that we can clothe our dog’s with. On one such search, I found tee shirts, dog scarf’s, sweaters, jackets, coats and boots. There were designer sunsuit’s, petjama’s and playsuit’s. Of course, not to mention your regular old “tuxedo and gown’s” for the poochies who get married. How incredible! I was astounded at how some websites really cater to the dog’s and their owners.
I personally have found that my two dogs love to get dressed up with lots of dog accessories that I make for them. I love to Crochet and create new things all the time for my two dogs to play with. I have made dog blankets, dog scarf’s, dog necklaces, dog ball’s and fun loving dog toys. They can play to their hearts content.
How To Guarantee Your Article Gets Published

How To Guarantee Your Article Gets Published
by: Kim Haas
There are literally thousands of article submission sites on the net today. Merely submitting your article to article directories does not guarantee that it will be accepted. Many article sites have publishing guidelines that are fairly general in nature. Most of the larger, more popular sites, are strict about what gets published and what gets rejected.
If you want ensure that more of your articles are accepted by online directories you need to make sure your article meets the publisher’s guidelines. As a owner and publisher of online article sites for many years, I am amazed at how many authors don’t take the time to read through submission guidelines.
Many sites will accept any article submitted, especially if it is a new article directory, as a means to build up their article count. However, sites that are more established with high Alexa and Google rankings, tend to be more selective in what is posted in their directory.
The most common mistakes authors make in submitting their articles include:
1. Not following the formatting requirements.
Creating Within Limits
June 29, 2008
When I first started playing the piano I wanted to learn how to compose. The idea that I could create something tangible really appealed to me.
So much so that I read everything I could get my hands on to learn the great art of musical composition. The problem was that these books assumed that you knew certain things like form, structure, harmony, and counterpoint. What a disappointment! It was hard trying to take the feelings I had on the inside and put them down on paper.
The real problem was that I had it backwards. Instead of trying to learn composition first, I needed to learn how to improvise - how to free the inner voice from criticism and judgement so I could be free to create the music that was inside of me.
And so I began to read about how to improvise, Again, I was disappointed. I couldn’t find good books on the subject, or books that would show me how to play in the New Age style - the style I loved. Eventually, I stumbled on a simple book that showed how to play using chord changes with 8-bar phrases. Now, here was something I could do! All I had to do now was learn chords. Once I knew how to play a few chords I began to see that in order to really be creative there had to be a set of limitations. An irony, yet one that works!
Decorating for The Cat Owner - How to Protect Your Possessions
June 29, 2008
The first thing a cat owner should know about home décor is to keep it simple. Cats are completely convinced that they are in charge, that the house and its possessions belong to them, and that they have every right to break rip or shred anything they like. Even a well trained cat (a possible oxymoron) will occasionally get overzealous, and with an inadvertent sweep of their tail will knock your favorite decoration from its place to a pile on the floor.
This disregard for your possessions, overt or otherwise, requires that you use some strategy when deciding on the placement of various decorative pieces. This is going to amount basically to common sense. Any surface that a cat can reach, they will walk on. Therefore low shelves or dressers should not contain any objects that are fragile. Items should be moved towards the middle of a surface, or back against the wall, to prevent them being knocked onto the floor. Items that have a broad or sturdy base should replace other more top heavy objects. Decorative accents that can shatter, such as ceramics or stone statues, may have to be replaced by steal or wood.
Marjoram: The Herb of Happiness
June 29, 2008
Called the "herb of happiness," Origanum majorana, commonly known as sweet marjoram or knotted marjoram, is an herbal symbol of peace and well-being. Marjoram is grown as an annual in the colder parts of the world but is perennial in warmer regions. To keep it growing as a perennial, bring it indoors for the winter. Marjoram may be grown as a houseplant and as it has a tendency to trail when grown indoors, it makes a nice hanging basket. Marjoram has small, grey-green, oval-shaped leaves that are velvety to the touch. Tiny white or pink flowers, reddish stems, and the grey-green colour of the leaves make marjoram an attractive border plant.
Marjoram grows 10 ? 24 inches (25 ? 60 cm) tall. Cultivation requirements: does best in full sun (will tolerate slight shade); well-drained soil; no fertiliser; water soil sparingly but do not let dry out; pinch back the tips or harvest sprigs to use in cooking to keep it bushy and productive.
Building Relationships Through Your Sales Copy

Building Relationships Through Your Sales Copy
by: Cathy Qazalbash
Whenever you try to sell anything you need to build a relationship with your reader. Few people will buy without this vital connection between you and those reading your sales copy. It doesn’t matter what sort of sales copy you are using. It can be a small classified ad or a full-blown Sales page. Unless you can build up this vital relationship with your reader you will make little or no sales.
How do you define a relationship built on merely reading your sales copy? It is the feeling a reader will have about you when reading your ad or sales letter. Your aim with any of your sales copy is to build a good rapport with your reader.
What sort of feelings do you want to create in your reader?
1. Empathy
2. Your product/service can help them resolve their problem
3. Trust
4. Need to buy
A feeling of empathy: Your reader wants to feel that you understand their needs and wants. When you sympathize with your readers’ needs they will be able to form a bond, they will be able to say, “yes this person understands what I want and understands the problems I am facing.”
New Thoughts

New Thoughts
by: Steve Gillman
New thoughts can come from taking a new perspective on things. One way to do that is to challenge the assumptions that exist. For example, is love really a feeling of desire or attachment? This is a common assumption, but what if we challenge this?
New Thoughts on Love
Desire and attachment can be strong feelings, and they are often called love in certain contexts. However, attachment can be for bad reasons too, right? Desire too can come from less than noble places. What is an alternative definition of love?
How about a recognition of value? Seeing the inherent value in a person, like the beauty you see in a painting or hear in a melody. You do not need to be attached or even desirous of beauty to enjoy it. You just have to recognize it. The enjoyment that you take in another’s existence then could be a definition of love. At least the emotion.
Love is more than an emotion though. How much love does a mother have for her children if she feels fond towards them, but doesn’t feed them? Love in this context has to include action, doesn’t it?
Keeping Your Cat Healthy
June 28, 2008
Cats need only be provided with decent shelter, food and water and they will be quite healthy most of the time. Like any other living thing, however, they can get sick and can come down with anything from a minor cold to a major ailment.
As a responsible pet owner, you want to make sure you feed your cat premium cat food so he can be his healthiest and also watch your cat closely for signs of sickness so that you can get him to a vet right away. Hopefully most ailments will be minor, but in some cases getting your cat expedient veterinary help can be the difference between life and death.
Some things to look for include:
Your cats coat ? is it full and shiny or dull and patchy? Is he shedding abnormally? If so get your cat scheduled for a vet visit.
Behavior ? is your cat acting sluggish and not eating? Any change in behavior warrants a trip to the vet as it is better to be safe then sorry!
