Dog Fleas

Dog Fleas
by: Rita Hutner
Dog fleas can cause more than itching.
They are difficult to control, but, left unchecked, they can cause your dog very serious health problems.
Simple facts about dog fleas:
Fleas are probably the most successful creatures on the planet in terms of reproduction. There are over 2,400 species and they are difficult to control for a variety of reasons: One female flea will produce 25,000 offspring in one month. An unfed adult can live for several months. The chemicals used to eradicate adult dog fleas have no effect on the eggs. Fleas are very good at mutating to resist new pesticides.
Fleas are a menace to dogs! They cause allergic dermatitis, tapeworms, and anemia. Most of the eggs are not laid on the dog but in the dog’s bedding, in the rug, and on the furniture. It is extremely difficult to eradicate fleas completely. The most you can hope for is to control them and to keep your dog reasonably comfortable during the warm, moist flea season.
Colorado Blue Spruce And Lush Red Roses
December 31, 2008
Set in a broad expanse of lush green lawn a length of split rail fence forms a corner. Carpeted with a thick layer of soil preserving and plant protecting cedar mulch, three tall Colorado blue spruce offset the right angles of the fence. Lush red roses climb and meander along the fence setting off the soft color of the spruce and livening up the grounds. A bench of rustic-cut native stone rests casually near the edge of the cedar chip mulch with views of sunset beyond the roses, and lush rose gardens toward the back of a rough hewn log cabin in the foreground.
This ruggedly natural setting implicates something of nature, blended with a cared for garden, a wealth of beauty with little cost. Whether the setting describes the corner of a yard, a cozy corner near the house, or a mirage near the center of a vast hillside, the bench lures the gardener with promise of miraculous sunsets, interesting coffee moments, and restful contentment at the end of a long hard day.
Preserve Your Artistic Vision

Preserve Your Artistic Vision
by: Seth T Mullins
Our culture has always had a curiously ambiguous attitude towards its artists, who are alternately reviled or else elevated to nearly god-like status. They seem to be perceived as other-than-human, able to dispense with leisure, comfort and normal security and happiness in order to function within society AND bestow the gift of their insights upon everyday folks. People don’t generally ask their plumbers whether they’ve painted any wondrous canvasses lately, or ask their tax consultants if they’ve been inspired with mystical poetry. Yet modern-day artists are expected to magically fulfill their creative vision AND be shrewd, practically-minded and business-savvy.
Let’s consider this two-fold demand within the realm of the writing and publishing world. It takes a very different faculty of the mind to conceive of - and realize - a fictional novel or short-story than to draft a query letter or book proposal. Writers of genius might flounder in obscurity because they can’t grasp the intricacies of the publishing game, while writers of lesser talent thrive because they’re business-minded and know how to produce sleek press releases; or because they’re social butterflies at writer’s retreats or build up a coterie of influential contacts in New York.

So you want to breed mastiffs. Breeding mastiffs is not an easy job , Please take a moment to read this before considering being a mastiff breeder. neapolitan mastiff, bullmastiff, bulldog, american mastiff, breeding, puppy , puppies .
Breeding the Old English Mastiff .
The English Mastiff is one of the hardest and most expensive breeds of dog to raise and breed . Fertility problems in both the male and female mastiff is common . Whelping difficulties are normal for the female mastiff as well as post delivery problems are a high probability in this breed. You can not breed a mastiff until they are at least 18 months of age and if you try breeding after 6 years of age you will be courting disaster. So you would be very lucky to see 3 litters out of a mastiff female , I have been breeding mastiffs for 10 years and have never managed to get 3 litters from any of my bitches. .This is one of the reasons the cost of buying a mastiff puppy is higher then other breeds .Reputable mastiff breeders seldom ever make money breeding mastiffs.
Anglican Arrogance: Small-Minded Choirmembers

What is “Episcopal” music?
We often hear people express concern about losing ties to our Anglican heritage, which dates back about 500 years. One area that draws attention is music. To approach the question of what is official Episcopal music, we might look to our own denominational hymnbook, The Episcopal Hymnal (1982). Compiled by the Standing Commission on Church Music, this edition surely reflects what is both traditional and sanctioned. A brief sampling of selections from TEH ‘82 should shed some light on what is authorized and what is not.
First, a survey of origins will be useful. Of the 726 hymns in this book, several are Gregorian chants, which originated in the Middle Ages. They were codified under Pope Gregory in the 8th century and compiled in the Roman Catholic Liber Usualis. An example of chant (or “plainsong”) is Of the Father’s Love Begotten. Naturally, it existed only in Latin for centuries. Other chants in the hymnal include Russian Orthodox, Slovak and Czech.
Guitar Chords: How To Solo Over Chords With The Minor Pentatonic Scale

Guitar Chords: How To Solo Over Chords With The Minor Pentatonic Scale
by: John Bilderbeck
Soloing over guitar chords is easy when you know how to use the minor pentatonic scale. Add spice and power to your solo’s with these simple but highly effective techniques.
The humble minor pentatonic scale is what most guitar players start with when learning to solo. Trouble is, they don’t learn to use the scale to it’s best potential.
Here, I’ll show you an easy way to use the pentatonic scale to solo over the three most common guitar chord types: Major, minor and dominant 7th chords.
1. Major Chords
A Major chord always has a relative minor chord. The easy way to find the ‘relative’ minor of any major chord on a guitar is to take the note three half-steps (3 frets) below the root note of the major chord.
For example: a C major chord - the root note is C. On a guitar, the note 3 frets below a C note is A. Therefore, A minor is the relative minor of C major.
So to solo over a C major chord, use the A minor pentatonic scale and you can’t go wrong.

Buying a Mastiff Puppy
by: Sharon Medforth
Yes I am a breeder from “Island West Mastiffs”. I have sold many mastiff pups over the years Many to great homes and a few, not so good . I have also bought and Imported mastiff pups . I too have been on the search for the right mastiff puppy.
By reading this you have started searching the right way . There is lots of information on the internet.
When buying a mastiff you will have to decide if you want a dog with a history of less health problems in the blood line or a dog from unknown health back ground.
In order to buy a pups with know family health history you must buy from a reputable breeder who knows their lines well, and not a back yard or inexperianced breeder.
If you buy a mastiff pup from a person who is not a known breeder, someone who has been not been breeding mastiffs for several years and dose not know the grandparents and great grandparents of the pup you are buying , you are risking health problems in you pup. Health problem that the breeder may not even know exist in the lines,
The Game of Life
December 29, 2008
When your life becomes unbearable
And the light of promise ceases to glow,
When all your dreams and aspirations
Lie dormant on ambition’s death row.
When you feel that all is hopeless,
Life troubles just seem to abound.
When those you thought were supporters
Are suddenly nowhere to be found;
When weary from the struggle of trying
And you wonder to yourself, “What’s the use?”
You fight on to do the best that you can
But once again, all hell breaks loose.
When things in your life become disjointed
And everything you touch turns stale.
When nerves are on edge from life’s pressures,
And there’s no breath with which to exhale.
When the road you are traveling gets bumpy
And the hills become harder to climb,
When the going gets tougher and tougher
And persist for a considerably long time.
Remember, it’s not what you expect from life,
But rather, what life expects from you.
When the wind of quandary blows your way,
Life wants to see just how well you’ll do.
You see, life is really like playing a game.
To win, you must play as it dictates.
If you follow its built-in survival rules,
Your troubles will miraculously dissipate.
